All right. I have held back long enough. If you are a baseball fan in Chicago, you must be loving right now unless you are cheering for some other team. Cardinal fans, I will send you some tissue now that the Brewers closed the deal on CC Sabathia.
For the record, I am not going to bash the Cubs or Cubs fans (besides having a little fun with the image above). How can I pick on the Cubs when they have one of the best records in baseball? They certainly have the best offense with the scoring machines that they bought. Then they go out and get an ace of a pitcher today with Rich Harden of Oakland.
Rich Harden? Wasn't he on the DL this year? OK, so it was a short time but leave it to the Cubs to get a pitcher who is injury prone. I mean really. What do the Cubs have to lose? In my mind, it is worth the gamble. No injuries and Hayden keeps performing with his current stats? The Cubs are that much closer to breaking the curse.
With the Sox finding ways to stay on top of the AL Central, lot of buzz lately about a subway World Series here in Chicago. I could not imagine how crazy the Windy City would be. I think the fans will finally get the chance to say "Put Up or Shut Up".
I already know the taunting will be at a whole new high.. or low depending what stunt you are going to pull like burning your teams logo in the grass. You never know, we could have snow during the World Series. You may spray paint your favorite team on your neighbors snowy lawn. All I know is that I want to see both teams get there. The cross town classic did nothing to settle the arguement of which team is better.
Lets play the best of seven and see who comes out on top. All I know is that it's not going to be pretty. Let the best team win!
