500 Club Part Deux

This is a different 500 club for me. Here was the first one regarding the 500th post.

Coming home tonight put me over 500 miles on the bike. Meaning, I have rode 5oo miles since I bought the bike. I actually started riding on March 10th, so 500 miles in less than three weeks is pretty good in my book. Not many people would brag about this but since I am still new at riding, I feel this is a good small milestone.

Here is what I have learned so far.

* If its 40 degrees out, don't forget that speed makes for an evil wind-chill.
* If you want to put down the bike on a kickstand, you need to put the kickstand down first. (I learned that tonight but luckily I did not drop the bike but scared the crap out of me)
* Don't eat greasy food before a bike ride.
* Pack Tums.
* If you have rain gear, pack it on the bike.
* Never trust the weather report.
* You have directions. On your bike. Use them. (sorry Matt)
