Happy Fathers Day (Note to Vegetarians, Don't Read This Post)

The Ol' 96er! Do I have to eat all the grizzle too?

Almost had the perfect day today. What was missing was a bike ride. I woke up to hard rain and heavy rolling thunder. Actually, I woke up to my two year old daughter yelling "Hi Daddy!" No matter how loud she was, she can make me smile from a dead sleep.

I was suppose to take my father in law to breakfast and then hit the road for some fun. Mother Nature had other plans for our morning. My F-I-L stayed home. Instead, I decided to meet some of the usual suspects (Motocbiker, DavidLSI, RedCBRRider, and MXVet57) from STN for breakfast at the Full Moon. I really enjoy getting together with other riders to hear their stories. I even consider it educational to some extent. For the record, due to the weather, I "pussed" out and took the car.

Afterwards, I went around looking for a wall map of the US with interstate and highway routes but I came up empty. If anyone has suggestions, let me know. I checked the Rand McNally site but I can't get a good image of what I am buying.

Then I decided to stop at Best Buy and buy Road Hogs. With my in-laws coming over today, I thought it would be a good movie to watch. Overall, we all had a few good laughs. I didn't set my expectations to high on this one so it was just an OK in my book.

As you can see from the picture, I ate half a cow. My wife suprised me with this 2 pound t-bone. To be honest, I never ate or cooked a steak that big before. For the record, I did not eat the whole thing but it sure was tasty!

After dinner, I lit up a cigar with my father in law. Talked out on the patio while playing with the kids in the backyard. One thing I noticed tonight is that my four year old son is starting to click on hitting the baseball. He was hitting the snot out of it. I kept telling him to remember what he is doing now and to do the same thing in a game. Although I can't complain. His last game he hit three out of four at bats. And no, my four year old was able to skip tee ball. Trent makes me a proud father on this day.

Trent and Daddy!

Hannah makes me proud as well as makes me laugh.
I have no idea where she gets her table manors from.

Even though my Dad was cooking at his restaurant today, we still texted each other throughout the day. Since we are both passionate about sports, on occasion, I text score updates to him. Well today, we were able to talk to each other when Tiger sank his birdie putt at the US Open to force a playoff round for tomorrow. We may not get to see each other much but its the little moments in sports that brings us together. Happy Fathers day Dad!
