Loopin' The Lake '07I am ready to get back out on the road. Due to the new job, I am somewhat limited to how far I can go due to lack of time off. Bandit Brother Matt is going west with a buddy but again, I can't get the time off. Pat, from our Indy trip, can't get away for the weekend either. Looks like I will be doing this one solo.
If all goes as planned, I am heading out Friday, July 6th and return that Sunday afternoon. My original plan was to head east on 120 and hang a left at the lake but that can be a pain during rush hour. Right now, I am going to get on the Interstate and take that north of
The original plan was to do this 1000 mile trip in two days but I decided that I wanted to stop and smell the roses when I want. As for going solo, it is something as a rider I have wanted to do. It is more of a mental therapy to clear my mind.
Some rules that I am going to try to follow. No stopping to eat at any chain restaurants. I like the Mom and Pop type places to try. With the exception of going through
My last rule I am struggling with. To book or to not book a room ahead of time. That is the question. Matt tells me to book so I don't get stuck looking for one later... after dark. There is part me that agree but then there is part of me that says I don't want to be at any particular place at a certain time. I might have to flip a coin on this one. Plus I want to stay in at least one run down motel similar to the Bates.
