Sunday Trip Report: Stir Crazy

I was thinking of this movie as my legs were a bit cold.

I stuck to the game plan and headed out a little after 9:30 this morning on the bike. It was about 44 degrees out. As I was going down the road, I realized I forgot my camera but my phone camera would work. Then as my thighs got cold, I realized I forgot my rain pants. I was going to wear them to help block the wind. Oh, I did not put on any long johns either. This is what happens when you more excited to ride and forget the details.

Then I got lost in Wisconsin. I kept hearing Matt in my head, "do you have a map of Wisconsin?" Of course I do but you know that would be in my car. I had directions from mapquest, and that was on my bike, but once you miss a turn, it does you no good. My instincts told me to head north instead of the west route I was taking. I ran into highway 50 and got back on track. I ended up going an extra ten miles but they were a good ten miles. Nice country roads for a bike route.

I got into Burlington (The birthplace of Dot) and made a few more correct turns which lead me to make it to Stir Crazy Coffee shop in Rochester Wisconsin.

Here is what I came upon as I pulled up. I think I have found the right group. In my head I had a "hell yeah" shouting to say that I made it to my first meet up.

I had coffee and a delicious hot cinnamon roll from Stir Crazy. It was really good. You could see the steam coming off it as I ate it outside. All the riders were great and friendly with no attitude. Some of them were planning a ride together today but I returned home after staying a little over an hour. I put on 85 miles today and about 25 miles on Saturday. No incidents and no tickets! Not a bad weekend for my first time out.

I had to laugh when I saw this patch.

This is one of the cooler paint jobs that I have seen in while. Stevie Ray Vaughn on top and Hendrix opposite. Damn, I wish I had my better camera.
